Dom's Island
High-school final project
“Dom's Island” (Early 3D Game Prototype)
This was one of my earliest 3D game prototypes, a small survival/adventure experience built to showcase my ability to create complete gameplay systems, world structure, combat, UI, and interactive storytelling inside Unity.
Goal
Demonstrate full-stack game development:
character movement & combat
enemy AI
quest flow
level progression
UI/menus
audio, narration, and VFX
basic animation work
My Role
Game Developer, I was responsible for putting all of the assets together, complete scripting, as well as creating the animations and narrator audio clip
What I Delivered
Gameplay & World
Designed a small island level using 3D assets and custom animations
Added a narrator NPC with voiced dialogue + subtitle system
Created a progression path from the starting beach through the island, forest, and temple
Player Systems
Player movement, health, damage handling, and death/respawn loop
Custom melee attack animation
Combat logic against multiple enemy types
Enemy AI
Golems with Idle → Walk → Attack state logic
Trigger-based enemy spawns and music cues for encounters
Quest & Objectives
Simple side quest involving collecting hidden items to unlock the forest gate
Clear progression flow guiding players through narrative + gameplay beats
UI & Experience
Main menu, HUD, health system, and pause functionality
Sound effects, ambient audio, custom music cue timing
VFX for attacks, hits, and environment interactions
Results
The prototype served as a complete demonstration of core game-development skills, I got a C mark for the project. It did however, act as the foundation for my future client work and more advanced systems I built later in my career.
